I was directly hired as a private caregiver at a private home in Long Island, caring for an elderly with heart condition. I had been requested to attend to him while he was admitted at a certain heart center in Roslyn, NY in preparation for his scheduled bypass surgery. My service ended when he was recommended as physically and medically ready for the cardiac surgery by the primary care physician as well as the cardiologist who was the surgeon at the same time. Yet, several weeks after his rehabilitation period at a rehab center, I was even called to render service as he needed post-rehab care. Currently, I have an on-call status whenever my service is needed in accordance with my availability to do so.
