Hi, My name is Micah. I am a 32 year old female with four years experience as a caregiver. I actually cared for the same family all four years. The couple I cared for were suffering from advanced dementia. They also had their adult son living in their home. He had many complications with diabetes and I also helped him with getting his blood sugar under control when he would get sick. My responsibilities began with cooking meals, personal hygiene, and light housekeeping. As their dementia advanced to final stages my duties included: Assisting visiting hospice care workers Bed baths Diaper changes Administering medications Cooking meals and hand feeding Grocery shopping Doctor appointments Companionship - watching TV, reading, or just simply sitting with them.
