Companionship Light housekeeping Laundry Food preparation Bathing Medications (as directed) I was the primary caregiver for my mother and father. My mother had congestive heart failure, COPD, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, fibromyalgia, difficulty walking and getting up from chairs, etc. I transported her to all doctor appointments, ER visits and helped her with bathing, incontinence and constipation issues. I know what to do (with natural products) when someone is constipated. My father had lung and brain cancer, which affected his personality, so I am experienced in how to work with personality disorders. My 30 year old son suffered a traumatic brain injury 9 years ago, and I found solutions that worked when he was depressed, anxious, frustrated and angry. He suffered from short-term memory loss (still does) and double vision, but I have helped teach him ways to overcome these potential disabilities and how to turn a seemingly negative situation into a positive one! He recently got married to a RN, so he now has a wife that knows how to provide for him! She does still turn to me for some guidance, but not often. My last 10 years of being a personal caregiver for my loved ones are now over and I find myself feeling empty inside. I truly love taking care of others and have a strong desire to be of help to others. I have a gift to communicate and have become great companions/friends with the most difficult personalities and show compassion at all times, in any situation!
