Good day...By way of introduction, I am a mature-in-mind, but still young-at-heart woman with an energy level that just won't quit, who has been providing much needed assistance to those who have just had surgery, or perhaps have just been released from a rehab facility, or simply require assistance, service and support to enable them to continue to live independently in their own home. I love all types of animals, and care for my client's pets is just as important to me as the care and assistance I provide to my human clients. I enjoy cooking and preparing a whole host of healthy and nourishing meals (my mother was an Italian woman who certainly KNEW how to cook/bake!!!), and I honestly believe meal preparation is one of the most valuable and welcomed aspect of my services. The client is encouraged to participate in meal preparation to the extent he/she desires to be involved. I also enjoy taking care of my client's laundry needs, shopping in any capacity, taking car rides to special places that he/she may want to visit (i.e., library, senior center, bank, community dining rooms, thrift stores/consignment shops, church, hair dresser/manicurist/barber), playing card/board games as well as knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts, etc. I also provide assistance with bill paying, calling with questions my client may have regarding a bill/issue, managing simple finances, helping them work on a computer, making phone calls, writing letters, etc. I work best when in a position of providing assistance and support to those in need, and I get along with all different types of personalities as I always look for the highest and the best in everyone. I achieve my personal satisfaction from helping to make someone's life easier and more enjoyable, and to know that someone's life is actually better because I am in it. I take my responsibilities seriously and I always put the welfare and care of those I am assisting first and foremost. Strong references from my past clients and/or their family will be provided upon request. I pride myself on having a perfect driving record, no accidents or arrests, am extremely careful and cautious when transporting my clients, and I live by the Golden Rule because I believe that "what we do comes back to you." I love being a caregiver because: (1) I was created to be of invaluable assistance to others who are in need of my service and support; (2) patient/customer service comes second-nature to me; (3) I have a genuine and authentic desire to contribute to the well-being and continued growth and progress of others who are not completely capable of taking care of themselves; (4) I enjoy caring for the elderly because they are non-judgmental and appreciate the care, attention and assistance that I provide them; (5) I enjoy choosing my own working hours; (6) I love to prepare meals/healthy snacks for others, as well as spend quality time with them including mental stimulation, learning about a person through sharing of interesting conversation; (7) I enjoy affording them the opportunity to sit by a pond and hear the birds/see the flowers, or to treat them to some much enjoyed recreational activity or visiting the library, art guilds and galleries, visiting with their friends/family, and just tending to whatever they desire to do at any particular time; (8) I volunteer to serve at local soup kitchens and for the past 11 years I have operated on my own a clothing closet for the homeless and needy in the New Haven county. But most of all I want to be a caregiver because "What goes around comes around" and I know when I get older and may require assistance with my own daily life and living, I will be surrounded by many wonderful providers because I will know that I have given of myself by taking care of others in previous years (while I was younger and more able to do so). I guess I just love people and I have an uncanny ability to understand them even when they don't communicate their needs or desires. I am honest, genuine, authentic, compassionate, trustworthy, reliable, conscientious, caring, gentle and patient but also high energy and fun loving, always in a positive and uplifting mood, look for and find only the highest and the best in everyone I interact with, and my professional and personal references will most certainly attest to my integrity, work ethic, values and morals, as well as my honesty and authenticity, and perfect attendance record. The word "can't" does not exist in my world and is not an option. I do not hesitate to give more than 100% in everything I do, or to go the extra mile for those I care about. I do have my own transportation, but no tattoos, body piercings or I-Pod that has permanently become part of my hand. Not afraid to drive in inclement weather....one must do what one needs to be done. I get my personal satisfaction from helping to make others' lives more enjoyable and worth living. My desire to be a companion/homemaker started when I chose to assist my mother when her health began to gradually decline, and I was her sole caregiver until the day she made her transition. She brought me into this world, and I was surely going to be there to help her when she left this world....and I have never once regretted all those many years of loving service and assistance that I provided to one of the most important woman in my life...I have become a much better person because of all the care I provided her when she needed it. I have a clean and healthy conscience and no personal regrets in my life. I am a loving person and those that I assist are most thankful and appreciative for having me in their life. Helping others is not a job -- it is an outpouring of human/spiritual love that just flows naturally (at least this is true for me) a/k/a doing God's Will.
