Taking care of the elderly is a position that I enjoy. I've had the God-given privilege of taking care of my own mother up until age 98 who, many times said, "Thank you for everything you're doing for me". I've also had the experience of taking care of an elderly who loved me very much, and whose children thought the world of me. They many times expressed their deep appreciation for me because of the excellent care I took of their mother. Keeping a house in immaculate condition helps the patient to be more relaxed, thriving better in a clean environment. This is accomplished by means of vacuuming, dusting and thorough cleaning. Also, laundry is a must in one's life, as it's necessary to appear clean and neat at all times. This helps to add to the patient's comfort. Planning and cooking healthy meals to include fruits and vegetables, and making them palatable comes naturally, because I do believe that "you are what you eat". At the same token, it's not a problem adjusting to people's taste and desires, seeing that everyone is different and should be respected as such. I am a very organized and systematic person. If I have to administer medications, I ensure that they are given on time and as necessary. Where Blood Pressure medication is concerned, it is always wise to check the pressure before administering medication. I think common sense plays a great role in certain situations, and my caring ability enables me to discern moments that are abnormal, at which point I would take appropriate action. With my concern for the well-being of the elderly, my best is always given.
