Elder care Job in Wetaskiwin, Alberta

Looking to hire a female caregiver for our mother who has Multiple Sclerosis and lives in Wetaskiwin. Our caregiving hours are funded through Self Managed Home Care.

We are seeking a caregiver for shifts that can be a mix of mornings, afternoons and evenings.
Our team of caregivers communicate with one another to select shifts that best fit their monthly availability.
Morning shifts include personal care, showering as needed, assistance with getting dressed, toileting, as well as meal preparation, light cleaning/tidying and house management tasks as needed (eg. laundry, dishes, recycling). Afternoons involve assistance with toileting/brief change, and companionship through games, tea/snack, outings as per caregivers comfort level. Evenings involve bedtime routine with tasks including personal care, toileting, medications and assistance with transfers.
Training shift(s) with another caregiver will be arranged to assist with learning the routines!

Seeking a candidate who is reliable, compassionate and comfortable working independently.
Familiarity with MS and the degenerative process of this disease on both the body and mind will be an asset, to be more comfortable with managing difficulties around emotional regulation and communication.

Pay starts at $18/hour for probationary period, then increases to $20/hr.
