Hi,my name is Shannon. I'd like to offer my services to you. I'm a 37 year old nonsmoker. I'm reliable,compassionate,hard working and trustworthy. I have a clean driving record. I can pass a drug and background check. I've dedicated the last 8 years to caring for the elderly/disabled and their needs. I'm a very organized person. I've lead a small group of caregivers, seeing to it my patients and their home are well taken care of. I've held many small time positions(until my patients passed) but my last long term job was for a doctor in Long Beach,MS. I was with him for 6 years. While employed there I cared for him,his wife and their home,working 3/24 hour shifts a week. Dr. Kitchings had Parkinson's Disease and Dementia,his wife (Mrs. Ann) had a massive stroke which left her unable to walk,talk,transfer and care for herself in every way. My daily duties included (for the both of them) grooming,bathing,dressing,toileting(incontinence),companionship,cooking,cleaning,medication management,therapy(range of motion),transportation and I accompanied them both to doctors and therapy appointments. This was a very rewarding and fulfilling position for me. They became my family. Sadly Dr. Kitchings passed away in September of 2015 and his wife passed in February 2016. I'm looking for the same opportunity to share my love and care for another elderly/disabled person who needs me. I've worked hand and hand with therapists to ensure my patients recovery. I would love the opportunity to take care of your loved one. I have excellent references. I assisted my mother in taking care of Judge Dan Russell. Most of the women in my family are loving caregivers,dedicating their lives caring for people who need them. I have been around this my whole life. I have a nephew with Down Syndrome. I feel I've had a lot of experience caring for individuals with disabilities. I love giving back and seeing to it that people,whether disabled or elderly,live happy and fulfilled lives. I have an understanding of each and every person being different and having different needs. I make it my priority for each of my patients to get the care they deserve.
