Julie Charbonneau provided full time personal care during the last three years of our mother’s life who at the time was terminally ill with vascular dementia. i don’t think our mother and family could’ve made it through those three years if it wasn’t for Julie’s help. Julie is a kind and caring individual and is very skilled at her job. She provided our mother with assistance with essentials like feeding , dressing , toileting and personal hygiene. Julie did many things in an effort to lessen our mother’s physical and emotional pain. Some of these things included reading to her , listening to music , art projects and physical therapy. Julie would also take our mother who was in a wheelchair for outings in the neighbourhood and lunches at restaurants. She would also drive our mother to doctor’s appointments. If all of this was not enough Julie would put in extra effort. On her own personal time Julie would shop for and buy things at stores she thought could make a difference in our mother’s life. (Clothes , toiletries , decorations , food , etc.) and on special occasions (X-mas , birthday , valentines , etc) Julie would give our mother cards and small gifts. We have no doubt that Julie’s dedication and efforts had a big impact on the last three year’s of our mother’s life and for that we are very thankful for.
