Dear families, As an example of my passion and care for people, I\'d like to introduce you the poem that will directly radiate what does it mean to be a Caregiver or Personal Support Worker for me: Who Are You? Who is this person looking after me? Do they know how hard this is for me? To be once strong and now needing help I can\'t even dress myself It is so hard for me to need their help Do they know how hard this is for me? To not be the person I used to be Yes, we know, and that’s why we\'re here To be that person to douse those fears We wouldn\'t be here if we didn’t care We have lots of helping hands to share Looking after others is truly a gift One that we share with great pride and respect I once was strong and had a life A career, some children and a loving wife A beautiful home that belonged to me It now belongs to someone else, you see I am too old and tired now I don\'t even recognize myself I am frail and have lots of pain That’s why I had to give my home away And so, I am here today; This is what I have to say We know that you weren\'t always this way And that you would rather not stay But know that while you\'re here with us We will be your hands, your eyes, your ears and other stuff We will help dress you, bathe and attend to your daily needs But know that we are more than that, if you please We are a person who wants to be Your friend To make your stay with us be good ’til the end We will be there to give you hugs, wipe your tears and give you back rubs Please put your faith in me — And trust I will be the person you need me to be -Cariedfor individuals and/or families during periods of incapacitation, convalescence or family disruption. -Administered bedside and personal care to clients such as aid in movement, bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and undressing. -Planned and prepared meals, including special diets, and feeding or assisting in feeding clients. -Performed routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, administered medications and collected specimens under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse. -Performed routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds. -Provided elderly and convalescent clients with companionship and personal care in client’s home under general direction of home care agency supervisor or family members.
