Elder Care in Phenix City, Alabama

Darlene Burnett is a caring, dependable, and honest person. I have known her for ten years. In the ten years I have known her she has taken care of an elderly man for 3 years. He lived by himself and not one of his three children did not offer to take care of him or saw that he had anyone to take care of him. He had kidney renial failure. She knew him as he lived in her apartment develoment she did and said hello to him everyday she walked by walking her dog. She took it upon herself to take him to his doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and picking up his prescriptions. She tried to keep in touch with his children his condition but they did not care. I guess they had hard feelings from instances before she had met him but neither the kids or he would say. As his health declined she had a hospital bed brought to his apartment so he could stay there as long as possible. She and myself would stay with him so he was never alone. In his last days she had him put into hospice care as she could no longer care for him. He passed two days after. She had helped him set up his funeral arrangements he requested before he got to ill which was to be buried in another state with his dead wife. She made sure they were carried out. Not one thank you from his children . She cleaned out his house and took care to make sure his belongings he wanted to give his ungreatful childen were distributed. She received no money or pay for any of this. He was low income and some things she paid for out of her own money. She was also a low income person. I know as I was with her a lot of the time as I thought he was a kind elderly man. I think he was 82 or 84 years old. I can't remember. She is one of the most honest persons I know. She wouldn't take a thing from anyone. She does make sure you are taken care of, I should know she had taken care of me when i almost died. If you have any questions please feel free to call me.
