Hi my name is Dawn I am 35yrs old and I have been a PSW since I was 21yrs old working in the LTC field. I love my job and it gives me great enjoyment working with the elderly population. I am trained in CPR,WHIMIS,SAFE RESIDENT HANDLING,FIRST AIDE, as well as GPA(gentle persuasion approach) when working with dementia, Alzheimer's and cognitively challenged persons. I am currently looking to expand my experiences in my field of work since I have strictly worked in LTC for approx. 13yrs. I have recently had the opportunity to help one of my close friends take care of his 90yr old mother as her needs are increasing and also still lives at home with him. I have found this type of healthcare very different but very enjoyable on a whole other level. I also have my own transportation if travel is needed preferably in close locations.
