I am known to be a very open, honest, gentle, and a patient person when it comes to working with seniors. I didn't originally look into being a caregiver I sort of fell into the job. My landlord had a brain injury and then came down with dementia and I noticed no one was visiting her very much let alone helping her around the house and much work needed to be done, so as I spent more time with her and began to help her around the house I discovered more and more care issues as she declined through the years. I enjoy being there for seniors because I wasn't able to be around for my grandparents who raised me before they passed. I lived in a different state and I was trying to get my life together as a young adult and I owe them a lot. I really wish I could have been there to help care for them. A personal achievement I am proud of with regard to caregiving can only be that I learned to swallow my pride and respect my elders and go to God.
