Elder care in St. Thomas, Ontario

I am a 51 year old proud mother of three and delighted Grandmother of soon to be three as well. I recently have had the experience of helping to care for my father of 73 years old diagnosed with lung cancer. It was very difficult but wonderful at the same time to give him comfort and make him smile. He loved to watch tv, so thats what we did and chatted. Even when he had a nap I still felt happy just being there for him. Dad needed high calorie small meals and snacks mainly milkshakes and we came up with a secret receipe starting with ensure.
The trouble we had was trying to have someone with him all the time, making sure he had assistance with his walker getting to the bathroom or really just anywhere in the house he wanted to go so he would not fall but making sure he was independent at the same time. My father was a proud man therefore it was important for him to keep his dignity and I respected that.
Because of this experience as well as my background as a Para Transit Driver I love to help the Elderly and wish to assitt your family as well.
