Spending quality time with you or your loved one, listening, sharing, laughing, shopping, medical appointments, exercise companion, playing a game of cards or a movie, I am available for it all. This position will not only enrich my own life, but also the lives of those who receive my care. I promise to bring my personality and love of life which is infectious!! I have experience in caring for adults as I looked after my husband when he had cancer and I thank God that he is now cancer free!! I had been looking after my Mom with dementia for many years until I moved. We did a lot of activities in which I gauged our participation from how she was on any given day. She taught me patience and I now have a wealth of knowledge that I did not learn from taking a course. I have also been a care giver for my 82 year old mother in law for the past two and a half years who was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I have gained an understanding of how important an active lifestyle and positive mental attitude can be. I have also learned how to speak slowly, clearly and loudly because of my 87 year old father in law who hardly ever has his hearing aids turned up. lol I am able to provide transportation and companionship to appointments and activities and to act as an advocate for medical and personal issues because I drive a late model car that is easy to get in and out of.
