Elder Care in Sherman, Texas

I am a 41 year old single mother of a 19 year old wonderful son and 27 year old wonderful daughter. I have been caring for people and pets since I was a child helping care for elderly family members and then providing care professionally as a career for the last 20 years. I have worked in nursing homes as a CNA however after leaving there to provide a more fulfilling level of care for clients I have not renewed the CNA certification. I am experienced in all levels of care for those physically and mentally in need. I believe that if someone brings me into their home or a loved ones home to care for someone then it is my responsibility to provide the care and daily routines in which they have done themselves prior to needing assistance. I have the upmost respect for my clients as well as their families and I care for them as I do for my own family. It's not an easy decision to make when you are faced with bringing a stranger into your home to care for someone you love. I encourage family to stop in any time while I am at the home and visit with their loved one, it really does make a difference to them when they have family visit. I strictly follow the instructions I am given in how to care for someone. After all you know your loved ones and what's best for them a lot better than I do. I've seen the difference it makes in those that get to remain at home when they need care rather than having to leave their home and go to a nursing home so I work hard at showing my clients that they can trust me to keep things as normal as possible for them but provide them with the care they need when it is needed. I encourage my clients to remain independent and share with me the things they like to do or says they like things in their home done so they still feel like they are in charge of their life even if they need some assistance. I love pets of all kinds so pets are always welcome to stay with their person and will be cared for with the same respect. I can be available for last minute calls to come in but I can't guarantee that I can be available the day and time you call if I am caring for someone else at that time. I work with animal rescue groups so my weekends are pretty full with that since almost all my clients need care during the week while their family is working but am available any day during the week. If arranged ahead of time I may be able to work an occasional day on the weekend if I do not have any rescue events or adoption events I must attend. I learn something different from each one of my clients through their stories of experiences throughout the years and I love sitting and listening to each and every story.
