I graduated from my Government of Alberta Health Care Aide (honours) at Red Deer campus on May 10,2010. After completing my practicum at Red Deer Nursing Home and Michener Services which provides home living supports to adults with developmental disabilities. I was hired at Bethany Collegeside- provides 24/7 residential care for people with complex medical needs, including: assessing and treating health issues and helping with every day activities. I gained lots of continuing care experience while being employed by Bethany. After taking time off with my children I went back to College and The Board of Governors at NorQuest College granted me my Hospital Unit Clerk Certificate. This course was composed of Medical Terminology, Medical Orders, and Buisness Communications for Unit Clerks. Keyboarding, Hospital Organization and Procedures. The Pacific Institute certified me as completing my “Thought Patterns for a Successful Career.” I attended Carewest Supportive Pathways which is a course on personalized dementia care in a supportive setting.
