Hello I'm a 28 year old father and grandson who unfortunately the first to years of my daughter Mias life was a full time job it self. She was diagnosed with hypoplastic right heart which means basically she only had half a heart the functioned like it was suppose to. At six days old she had her first open heart surgery. After the first surgery she had to get a Gtube placed on the outside of her stomach which led into her stomach allowing her to get her nutrition, vitiamans and food because she also suffered from a paralysed vocal cord when they were removing her breathing tube it damaged the left side. So from that point till the next surgery we 89 percent of the time living in Loma linda. At a year old she had her second open heart surgery her stats went up as planned but 5 days later she started dessting with her oxygen so we rushed back to Loma Linda to find out her heart was linking and all the fluid was staying on top of her right lung which if we didn't take her in right away she probably would have passed because the weight of the fluid on her lung was suffocating and weighing down on which didn't allow her to breathe. Two days later shes on the operating table for a heart cathered which at the time they cut a 1/8 hole in between her ribs and place a tube thru there to go above the lung to allow the fluid to drain, at the time she was on a strict no fat diet and was only allowed 800mls of fluid PER DAY! Mu poor baby it was horrible then she pulled that drain out about four times at home twice I was able to replace and do a fluid gravity test to make sure placement was good. After a couple months we got 95 percent of the fluid out of her so at 18 months it was time for the last and final surgery. It's was 10 excursionating hours but she came out looking good and in a matter of 3 days they sent us home which was an hour and a half away we were there about 15 minutes at the the most and I noticed she wasn't catching her self when she would lean to the right side it was back in the car to Loma Linda. Doctors discovered she suffered a stroke followed by multiple mini sezuires the doctors weren't providing enough oxygen to her brain during surgery so she lost movement and control of her left side. So I decided to get her in to a 6 month residential physical therapy program in Orange county In two months she had her movement far passed where she was at before thank god. She still has minor problems which we were told to watch for like her getting sick really easy cause of her white blood cell count. Now days shes playing, runing jumping, taking and showng her disease whos the boss of her life. She just turned 3 on Nov 14 she is the strongest most happiest heart warrior baby I've ever seen and I get the privilege to be that little girls father.
