Elder Care in New Braunfels, Texas

Two and a half years ago I started caring for a 90 year old lady who was suffering from dementia and eventually became bed ridden. In providing for her daily care I cleaned, changed clothes, changed diapers, prepared meals, fed, assisted with doctor’s appointments, bed exercises, administered medications as prescribed, kept her company, conversed with her, and monitored her general health and well-being until she recently passed away at 93 years old in the hospital. This has been a very fulfilling and satisfying experience for me since I felt I was making a difference in her life and she became a friend. I look forward to carrying for another elderly patient. Although I worked from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, I am also a full time student pursuing a degree in nursing. I feel that there will be a synergistic effect from my experience in caring for the elderly and my future career as a nurse. • 2 ½ years experienced female • CPR certified • Willing to travel up to 40 miles • will do a background check
