Dedicated healthcare worker with extensive experience working with the geriatric population as well as developmentally disabled, cognitively impaired and mental and behavioral health issues. I take pride in my work and derive considerable satisfaction from working with and enriching the lives of the elderly. I currently work for the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services as a Therapy Aide. I previously held the position of Assistant Director of Activities at Bishop McCarthy Residence. I recently completed a Home Care course through DH Special Services and will be certified by the NCCAP. I have experience with all levels of care; Activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, feeding, meal preparation, companionship/emotional support, light housekeeping, errands, providing transportation and coordinating and implementing a daily activity schedule for your loved one based on their likes and needs. I am well versed on the challenges of illness and aging as I cared for my Mother who had cancer and also did in home care for a dear friends Grandmother with Alzheimers/Dementia. I am client focused and provide exceptional care and service with the belief that although aging and illness has its many challenges the role of the caregiver should lessen the burden on the family and provide the best care possible to ensure the clients quality of life. My availability is Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Possible weekends and overnight. After July 1st I will be available until 5:00 pm during the week.
