Summary: I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. My name is Monique and I have been a compassionate caregiver for 15 years in my community. Serving elders in their time of need takes a special person with strong morals, ethics and honesty. I treat everyone in the manner in which I would want to be cared for and I prefer to serve families in West Lafayette, Indiana. My schedule is open and flexible - however.....I am not willing to work every weekend - I would prefer every other weekend as I currently care for my grandchildren two weekends a month. For the past eight years, I have worked in the death care industry, being of service to grieving families. I am in search of seniors in need of my individual care and attention - to be of service to your loved ones emotional and physical needs - while giving you peace of mind, knowing they are well cared for. Description of Skills: I have experience with post operation care and every aspects of geriatric care. I have worked in the past for Home Hospital and several nursing facilities in the Lafayette area. Being a witness to the neglect our seniors face in these overpopulated, understaffed facilities was heartbreaking. Our elders deserve respect and quality care in the comfort of their own home - every senior should have this option! Seniors forced into these facilities give up physically, emotionally and spiritually - which leads to grater risk of disease, depression and ultimately a shorter life span. As a society, the issue of elder care needs to be addressed with a fresh approach - new options and ideas for long term care facilities as well as nursing options in the home. As we all know.....nursing homes are not equipped to care for patients in the manner they deserve - making families feel inadequate and helpless with little options for our aging population. All seniors should have the option of home care -vs- nursing facilities...this is a matter of life or death for these individuals.
