Pleased to meet you! I'm Sharon, an elder care provider who's an experienced Companion, Medical Screener and Patient Watch personnel. I have First Aid, CPR A & C, AED, death doula training for palliative care training as well as the previously mentioned Resident Support Aide training from Markham-Stouffville Hospital. So what does that mean? I can cook, do light housework, play board games or do jigsaw puzzles with you. We can chat over tea. Walking your dog is doable too. I also love cats, tropical fish. I don't drive, but I can still accompany you to appointments, do shopping, etc. As a medical screener, I became familiar with Covid vaccines, their side effects and testing procedures. While I'm not a medical person, I can note any symptoms that you encounter and inform your caregiver. Currently, I work as a Patient Watch personnel, assisting nurses, PSWs with caring for their patients when they're away from them: taking patients to, from the powder room; positioning for comfort, meals; transfers from bed to chair, etc.; setting up meal trays and cutting up food; providing drinks; cleaning; locating nurses when meds are asked for, required; most importantly, alleviating fear, anxiety regarding the hospital environment.
