I am a qualified Healthcare assistant, i have been a care assistant for 9 years,with experience in Parkinson's, MS, Dimentia and Stroke care. I am from Ireland, but I am a Permanent Resident and have all my papers , I am very trustworthy, honest and reliable and will always give 100% dedication in my position. i am a very friendly , caring and compassionate person to know, i love chatting and spending time with seniors while also promoting their independence and providing activities such as card games,word search or board games , walking and reading. January 2015 – October 2015 : I was employed in a private home to provide care for a senior couple, Care was required because of Dementia in both clients, my duties included, making breakfast , encourage taking of medication from blister pack, helping clients to get up and dress each morning, make lunch , companionship, daily walks and ensuring their safety at all times because of a tendency to wander, sadly one of my clients passed away do this meant my other client had to go into Residential Care for his own safety, this is why I no longer have this position. November 2015 – October 2016 : I have been employed as a care assistant again in a private home to provide care for a senior couple, care was required because of Dementia and assistance in walking because of nerve damage from Diabetes, my duties included making breakfast, encourage taking of medication from blister pack, assisting and encouraging clients to get up and get dressed each morning, make lunch , play games i.e. cards, monopoly etc, companionship, daily exercises, make dinner and ensure their safety at all times. My employer has decided to employ a live in so that is why I no longer have this position. Education: !979 – 19...: I attended Secondary school in Ireland, I passed the equivalent of High School in Canada, and it is called the Leaving Cert in Ireland. Courses Completed: 2013: I completed Fetac Level 5 Health Care Assistant course over a 12 month period and achieved my diploma as a Healthcare Assistant, this Fetac qualification is recognised worldwide. Hobbies and Interests: My hobbies include spending time with my 2 teenage daughters to help and encourage them to achieve their goals for their future, I like to read i also enjoy doing puzzles and crosswords, I love listening to all kinds of music. I am a people person and I enjoy meeting and socialising with people of all ages. Achievements: The biggest achievement to date has to be moving our family here to Canada 2 years ago to start a new life, it has been a really good move for us, we have adapted so well and are delighted to have got this opportunity to come here, I know we have a big adventure ahead of us and we are so looking forward to it.
