Elder Care in Las Vegas, Nevada

Application: Hi there my name is Nancy. I am hoping to find an elder caregiving position in Spring Valley, The Lakes, Las Vegas, Nevada. My aim is to contribute to the ability for families to attend to their loved ones in their own home setting, providing them with the ability to stave off the high cost of assisted living and allow their loved one to stay in their own home environment longer giving them the dignity and comfort they look for. I can provide over night assistance for those family members needing a respite themselves for an occasional weekend. I took care of my own grandparents and an elderly woman who was in the elder onset of sundowning with Alzheimer's/ Dementia. I can assist with dressing, dispensing medications, cooking, light housekeeping (tbd), driving to doctor appointments and feeding. I generally look to meet the family member in charge of the current care to get a better idea of what is entailed as every situation is unique and to provide customized/tailored attention for each individual. I can alter my schedule to meet your needs somewhat as long as the schedule is pre-arranged. I am a care giver not an RN. I do have medical background in patient care and received a nursing scholarship to study nursing, but became a wife and mother instead. I have always been a care giver and I know that the day to day continued care can be exhausting for family members well as dynamic. I require a preliminary face to face meeting with both the family care giver member and the elder with whom I am providing care for. We will map out a specific plan to provide you with the best care to meet both to needs of the elder and the care giver. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease and I was able to allow family members to keep their loved one in their own surroundings longer. Description of Skills: I am comfortable doing post operation care, bathing, and help with mental heath. On top of this, I have a drivers license.
