Hello there, Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Did you know that many older adults wish to remain in their own homes once retired, and don’t consider it to be an option. There are other choices, you don’t have to move into senior’s accomodation! With the right supports and services, it is possible to stay in your home, your place and community. With previous work experience in local government, social services, education, and non-profit sectors, I have a thorough understanding of the issues, barriers and needs, faced by our ageing population. For the last four years, working for a local municipality, I have held a high profile and specialist role, working with older adults, providing assistance in accessing supports and services, individual and community projects, ageing in place, and seniors advocacy, to name a few of my specialisms. I understand the barriers to a happy and healthy life and have seen first hand, the worries that families have on their shoulders, when they are unable to care for their family members, or when looking for care and or supports. I am a great advocate of ageing in place, and I am well versed, in respectfully supporting older adults, to ensure this happens.
