Hello! My name is Emma and I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant. I am extremely passionate about caring for those around me. This is why I decided to go into homecare. I love to know I\'ve made a difference in someone\'s day and strive to make absolutely everyone\'s day better. I am a very optimistic person and have a tendency to rub off on those around me. Throughout my experience with Occupational Therapy I have developed many qualities that have helped me become an efficient provider of needs. I enjoy using my therapeutic interventions combined with personal care to maximize the clients potential and not only get them what they want and need, but improve their abilities to be able to better care for themselves and maintain or improve independence. I know how important independence is in everyone\'s lives and strive to help those who haven\'t felt self sufficient in quite some time enjoy that feeling again. I grew up in a family where my mother was passionate about special needs. Because of this, I have gained extensive experience working with children and teenagers who struggle and have gained a love for these amazing children and teens myself. Last year I took part in a program that serviced adults attending college who struggled with significant learning challenges and grew to -once again- love the work involved. My other strength and focus within the therapeutic field is with the elderly. I have a deep love for those who have come before me and made the path for this generation. I enjoy giving back to those who have done so much to make my life easier by making theirs a little more manageable. I have a desire to work with those specifically with intellectual or mental health disorders as I have grown a deep perspective into their challenges and daily struggles. I would love to work within your families, I would love to help within your communities, I would love to feel of service within your homes.
