I have successfully completed the PSW course at the Academy of Learning College, including more than 9 weeks of training in a long term care and community facility. I have gained a lot of experience in assisting clients with all their daily living activities, and provide holistic care. I have the following practical experiences: • Personal care duties, including oral hygiene, cleaning dentures, performing hair care and shampooing, performing foot care, assisting with dressing and undressing • Bathing and grooming include professional items e.g. activities of daily living (ASL) • Making occupied and unoccupied beds • Assisting with ambulation, using a variety of assistive devices, such as canes, walkers, crutches and wheelchairs • Transfers using variety of devices, such as transfer boards and mechanical lifts • Elimination assistance, by a variety of means: toileting, assisting with urinals, ed pans and commodes • Measurement of intake and output; assisting with feeding • Measuring height and weight; taking vital signs I work well independently and as part of a team.
