I am a caring occupational therapist with 25 years of experience working with seniors and the elderly. I specialize in improving all components of function such as strength and balance. I am also able to provide guidance on how the living environment can be modified to enhance function and safety...a little change can go a long way. Most have potential to gain critical daily skills and can improve in function or reduce their fall risk in just a few visits of proper guidance. I am passionate about helping people of all ages perform at their best, but have always been particularly motivated by the challenges our older folks tend to deal with. I also love helping develop preventative skills to stay functioning at our best through our elderly years. Posture is an important element of function, comfort, and eventually impacts fall risk. It often also deteriorates in our younger years before we even realize it. With the right intervention, posture can be improved and the deficits that come with faulty posture can be prevented. Balance skills can almost always improve, tend to respond quickly to the right challenges, and begin to deteriorate without skill building in our middle age.
