Elder Care in Orillia, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello my name is Diane. I can provide glowing references from former employers and clients I am admired in the industry as a very skilled, very compassionate caregiver. I have worked one on one with private clients and also many years in care facility providing assisted care for the elderly. I am available to work days evenings and overnight. I’m here to assist with all the daily needs for your elderly parent who now requires some additional assisted care. More and more families try to keep their parents at home for as long as possible given the fact that most long-term care facilities have an incredibly long waiting list and retirement homes can be pricey for what they offer. For those of you who are exploring the possibility of allowing your elderly parents to remain at home for as long as possible then I am the perfect caregiver to assist you in this area.. I would be happy to send you my resume for your review and perhaps I may be the right match for the services that are seaking. I am willing to travel up to 50 km from home to meet the needs of my client and their family. This would include Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Coldwater, Rama, Washago Seabright, Brechin, Gravenhurst. As of September 2018 I will be taking on new clients and I would Love to hear from you. Please send me a message... give me a brief description of what you’re looking for and a little bit about the client. We can have a chat over the phone and go from there.  About me personally well I am in my mid 50s white female, third generation Canadian with French and Irish descent. I moved to Washago in 2013 to enjoy the more relaxing atmosphere of cottage country after having worked exclusively in the hospitality industry for 33 years as a server bartender, host, chef and housekeeper for a Toronto 5 star Hotel. During that time I also owned and operated of my own catering company.   I entered the healthcare profession in 2013 after relocating to Washago. I have been working as a PSW for the past five years accumulating more than 10,000 hours of work related experience. I am very experienced in dealing with clients with dementia. I am also health and safety certified level II.  My criminal / vulnerable sector background check was updated in January 2016 but this can easily be renewed at the OPP station in Orillia. Just last week did a 4 hour refresher course for my CPR, First Aid which also covered Heimlich. I have also completed and updated all my ORCA courses pertaining to working with seniors in a healthcare setting which are valid up until Dec. 2018.   You will find me very mature reliable and very responsible. I am admired for my easy-going personality and accommodating nature. I always try to go above and beyond to meet the needs of my clients and employers. I have very good instincts, and I am a very efficient problem solver and always keep a high regard for the safety of my client based on their age, mobility and cognitive health. You will find me very compassionate and caring as I treat all my clients as if they were my own family.   I know my way around the kitchen and I am an incredible chef and can provide very healthy nutritious meals, also I’m a bit of a clean fanatic and you will find me cleaning and scrubbing whenever possible to keep everything looking like new. I am also very handy and can do minor repairs around the house as carpentry was a hobby of mine.   I just recently purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson so I have a very reliable vehicle with four-wheel-drive and would be happy to take my client shopping, on outings doctor’s appointments, etc. anytime. I’ve had a valid G license  with no accidents.   I am skilled and attentive to provide medication reminders and have a very good base knowledge of most medications which pertain to seniors including class II pain medications.   Bringing a complete stranger into your home to care for a parent who has always lived an independent lifestyle can be very challenging and stressful for the client, and the family. Finding the right person who is trustworthy and reliable and someone who knows what they are doing, along with someone who is genuinely caring and compassionate should be your major concern. Someone who is not lazy who will take the initiative to prepare meals, clean the house, do laundry and other things while the client is resting. I would be very happy to meet for an interview to determine whether or not I would be a good fit for this position.   I thank you in advance for considering my application. In the event you have already hired someone I would like to offer some information which you may find helpful. Contact CCAC and inquire about getting government funded PSW services to reduce the financial burden of hiring a private PSW.  CCAC can arrange to have an occupational therapist come in and assess the home for any additional health, safety and mobility right devices the client may need which through a doctor’s prescription can be covered 80% through ADP. Thank again Regards Diane

Diane is a caring and compassionate person who always has everyone's best interest at heart. She has assisted in caring for my father for eight months and has been a steadfast member of our team. Diane goes the extra mile in her caregiver role, interacting with myself and family, cooking wonderful meals, helping immensely with household duties and most of all treating my Dad with the utmost care and respect. We couldn't have made this journey of keeping my Dad in his own home without her professionalism and compassion.
