I'm Meghan, a dedicated and compassionate caregiver with over a two decades of experience in various facets of caregiving. I am currently based in Hamilton, where I have discovered my passion for supporting the elderly community. My experience includes working with clients in intimate settings - including their homes, on land and yachts in Florida and around the Caribbean. I've also served as a hairstylist in a salon, where I am fortunate to interact with numerous elderly clients, bringing cheer to their lives through engaging stories and meaningful connections. I may do this in English and Spanish! While I may lack formal certificates, I offer a genuine passion for caregiving which is evident in the warmth extended towards my clients. Over the years, I have been privileged to assist people living with different diagnoses including Alzheimer's, Dementia, Hospice, Incontinence (diapers), and Diabetes. In my role, I provide a range of support services from heavy patient lifting & transfer to bathing assistance, dressing grooming assistance, administering oxygen, and toilet assistance. I am also adept at handling housekeeping duties, which may include vacuuming, dishwashing, laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errand running and bathing assistance. I offer Alzheimer/Dementia Care, Palliative Care, Parkinson care, and patient positioning as well. I am most comfortable working within Retirement Homes and Home Health Care settings and prefer Live-Out and Part-Time arrangements. In terms of timings, I am flexible and available on mornings, mid-day and evenings on various days of the week. Beyond the professional, I bring a personal touch to caregiving stemming from having four children which taught me patience, kindness, and caring. Whether dealing with the hospitality industry, the yachting industry, or hairstyling, the joy I derive from helping others has been a constant. While I do not have specific experience working with children with disabilities, I definitely possess the patience, understanding, and sensitivity such a position demands. With a compassionate approach and a focus on individual needs, I strive to enhance the quality of life for the seniors under my care.
