I feel that I am called to work with the elderly. I enjoy the companionship and taking care of patients. I have worked with all types of patients from fully functioning to mentally ill patients. I enjoy offering a service to patients with respect and dignity. I assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing. Provide meal preparation, cleanup, laundry, and basic housecleaning tasks. I transport patients to doctor appointments, grocery store, bill paying and any other needs/errands. I Consult with patients physicians to relay to family members. I control and dispense medications prescribed as well as maintain records of patient's condition and any changes that should be brought to the attention of the family and physician. After being the sole caregiver for my mother, I take pride in being able to assist other patients with that same care and attention.
