Elder Care in Austin, Texas

I was brought up by my grandmother till I was 9 years old. This life experience has been the foundation of my love of the elderly and set the stage for my early career in the health care profession which started at age 14 when I became a Candy Striper. I have worked with the elderly in hospitals, nursing homes and private homes. I worked as a nursing assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide. The last job I had working as a CNA was in Leander. I worked there part time and prn for several years and still work there on weekends/holidays on occasion. I am a friendly and caring person. I am very attentive to the people I work with (usually children and the elderly) . I am a good listener and conversationalist (I also speak conversational Spanish). I can read to someone, play cards, do puzzles,. I can do range of motion and other exercises or go with them for a walk, take them to the park, to appointments or to the store. I can help them with any ADLs (Activities of Daily Life) including bathing, dressing, transfers from bed to chair. I can also do some light cleaning, laundry, take out garbage etc..
