Hi my name is marie I took care of a man in Florida for 1 year he walked with a walker... I did light cooking gave him lunch n dinner..... gave him his medication.... 3 times a day... gave him sponge baths everyday....did his grocery shopping... and followed up with his physical theropy.... after a year I had to move back to nj my mother got sick with heart issues... I have been taking care of my mother for the last 2 and a half years... I gave her showers in the beginning...dispensed her meds checked her blood sugar twice a day did the grocery shopping.....after a while she became to frail and had to have sponge baths....and wore diapers....I liked to keep my client in Florida n my mother as sharp as possible we played cards word search games..... I kept both my client in Florida and my mother... as sharp as possible.... my mother had physical therapy n When the therapist didn't come I did her exercises with her I also Like to keep the area clean where my client is staying... I think it makes them feel better... I also like to become a friend of my client... I feel it doesn't make them feel like they have lost there dignity... I know my client In Florida n my mother felt embarrassed in the beginning but even my client in Florida felt comfortable with me...
