We are located in Kalispell, MT. Our facility promotes a home-like environment centered on resident care. We are a small company and, therefore, offer a more family-like setting to work in that is very flexible. Manager's are eligible for benefits, bonuses, and profit sharing. A positive, outgoing, and proactive person is a must. Facility Manager: 1. All employees providing hands on care or supervision services shall be at least (18) years of age. 2. Smoking is not permitted in the facility or garage. 3. This position requires in-depth orientation to the residential care facility, its policies, procedures, physical plant, and residence. 4. You will attend refresher training classes at MT Health Care Conference and/or Renaissance Administrator Conference. Assuring that your continuing education requirements are met is mandatory. Keep a log of CEUs earned throughout the year and send a report to home office verifying your completion of required CEUs. Updating your knowledge is paramount to improving your skills with the residents. 5. The Facility Manager maintains the responsibility to protect each resident and assures staff provides appropriate care and services. Safeguard the facility in the interest of Renaissance. In an emergency situation, refer to the policy and procedure manual where you will find emergency procedures. If emergency warrants diligently try to contact Your supervisor (Home Office Contact). 6. Your supervisor supervises your position. Duties you will be performing: 1. You should report to work on time or give your supervisor (home office) a minimum of 4 hours advance notice (when possible) if you are unable to work. 2. You will be required to assist residents with activities of daily living including, but not limited to, grooming, care of clothing, selection of clothing, cleanliness of clothing, shaving, bathing, oral hygiene, shampooing of hair, peri-care, assisting with eating, and planning and implementing daily activities. 3. You may be required to cook meals for ten (10) to fifteen (15) residents and to follow a menu as it is posted in the kitchen. 4. You will be monitoring residents progress on a daily basis and assist in developing individual care plans including leading regular care planning conferences with the families and monitoring daily functions of the facility to assure continuity of and appropriate changes in care plans. 5. You will be answering the telephone. The public may call with questions concerning the facility. Family members may call with questions about their loved one and these phone calls will be directed to you. 6. You may be assisting the residents in setting up appointments with doctors, dentists, or other services that are available in the community. 7. You will be documenting resident’s problems and changes of condition as well as conducting pre-admission assessments, assisting with admissions, and discharges. 8. You will need to establish effective communication with medical staff, consultants, and other outside professionals. 9. You must be able to work with facility management teams and corporate staff in planning all aspects of the facility operations, including setting priorities and job assignments. 10. You must monitor each department, communicate and interpret policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback, assist, coach, and discipline staff as necessary. 11. You will monitor employee morale, maintaining a high level of team spirit and unit cohesion. Manage turnover. 12. You will manage facility budgets. 13. You need to keep abreast of market trends and competition. 14. You will develop positive relationships with State Regulators, the community at large, families and residents on behalf of Renaissance. 15. You must act as a role model for staff in courtesy, tact, and gentle care of residents. Purpose: To provide quality care and service to the residents in conjunction with Renaissance. You must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Ability to aid and attend to elderly residents in the activities of daily living. i.e.. Bathing, grooming, dressing, etc. • Ability to handle emergency situations, such as power outages, medical emergencies, fire, flood, etc. • Ability to have genuine concern for the elderly, involve others in the decision making process while maintaining facility mission and goals. • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. • Ability to prepare meals for the home in an attractive and timely manner. Follow a prepared menu and make appropriate changes as needed. Ability to ensure training and incentive programs are in place and working properly. • Knowledge of first aid and CPR, to have taken an accredited first aid and CPR course within the first (thirty) 30 days of employment, and be able to produce evidence of it. This course should be updated as required by State Regulations and Renaissance policy. • Knowledge of Hepatitis B/HIV . • Knowledge of Fundamentals of Caregiving or Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving, to have taken an accredited Fundamentals of Caregiving or Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving course within the first 120 days of employment, and be able to produce evidence of it if not already an employee of the company and received such training. This course should be updated as required by State Regulations and Renaissance policy. • Knowledge of employment laws and company policies. • Maintain current knowledge of State Regulations regarding Residential Homes, Dementia Care, and resident rights. • Maintain marketing network or recruitment sources. • Physically capable of managing the duties of a large home and the needs of the elderly residents. (i.e. cleaning, laundry, cooking, peri-care, etc.)
