Sunnyside Community Services, an innovative community-based, social service organization in Queens (ten minute subway ride from Grand Central) is building a program team for its New York City Caregiver Network. The Network is an exciting new initiative that will support caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia across New York City. The Administrative Program Assistant will carry out essential administrative and record keeping tasks. This staff member will manage data entry tasks, strengthening the ability of the program to track and evaluate key indicators of program effectiveness. He / she will also assist in scheduling events and meetings across all eight sites of the program, and assist in managing correspondence among program partners. Attention to detail required including maintaining program files, supporting reporting functions and entering and reviewing data for accuracy. The ideal candidate will be experienced with social service programming. This program while, building on Sunnyside Community Services broad and deep work in social services and strong Caregiver support programming, is a new initiative. The Administrative Program Assistant will need to help quickly and effectively build the foundation for this dynamic work. The Administrative Program Assistant will support a team which includes eight social workers, a Director, an Assistant Director and a Caregiver Education Specialist. In addition a Western Queens Caregiver team will form part of the broader team umbrella. Responsibilities and Qualifications • Associates or Bachelor’s degree • Two years of experience working in an administrative capacity, preferably in a social services organization or equivalent. • Ability to organize, manage and evaluate multiple activities and services. • Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, community agencies, and clients with diverse opinions, values and cultures. • Ability to track and report on data is essential. • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. • Capable of optimizing time and efficiently working with teams.
