Elder Care Job in Toronto, Ontario

Looking for a caring, patient, articulate and experienced caregiver for our 80 year old ailing mother who would like to remain in her home. We need someone who is strong and capable of assisting those who are mobility impaired due to a recent stroke and physical deterioration following completed cancer treatments. Our mother requires assistance with all meals, comfort care including the administration of basic pain medication, and personal care. Previous nursing experience would be an asset. We are also looking for someone to provide ongoing companionship, to run errands such as grocery shopping, do light housekeeping, keep inventory of household needs and provide basic care for her two beloved dogs (yellow labs). Prior to her illness, she was a very dynamic woman and a nurse by training, whose intelligence and strength gave her opportunities to lead a life of travels and study. To this day, she has an active mind and enjoys speaking about her many travels and current events; however, her current physical state of discomfort and deterioration periodically makes her confused, disoriented and forgetful.
