Elder Care in Belleville, Ontario

In a professional capacity I am well organized and attentive to detail. Worked as an agency RN for 15 years and retired to care for my husband who died of lung cancer 2 years ago. Some of the many hospitals I worked as an RN include: Sunnybrooke H. (Toronto) trauma and cardiac surgery; St. Micheal's H. cardiac surgery; Toronto Arthritic H. hip and knee replacement surgery; York Central H. cardiac care and general med/surg depts.; Centenary H. cardiac and med/surg depts. The last year as an RN were spent closer to home to be with my husband. Villiage Green in the hamlet of Selby, is a long term care facility were I worked pt time as nurse in charge. My academic background is a 4 year degree in Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston ('96 grad.) and the three year RN program from Loyalist College (graduated as RN 1999). In addition I have 5 diplomas from Loyalist in business management related courses. My skills include : MS Word; Photoshop, and too many other computer programs to list here; many intercom systems and mail programs; medical documentation; organization of health care personnel and supervision of same. General life skills include: Good time management; follow instruction pleasantly and to the point; work well with others; excellent phone manner; punctuality and work ethic. I am compassionate and a good listener. I am the mother of 3 and grandmother to 8. In addition to skills in the health care industry many of my years were spent teaching and performing in the music business. I play piano, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, 5 string banjo and hosted many TV series. As well, I sing and write music and still teach harmony and piano. I have owned my own home here in the Belleville area for 30 years and would like to go back to work part time in an interesting position where I have much to offer as a loyal employee. I am ready and willing to learn new skills and have reliable transportation with a valid DM license. Night shifts are preferable but working in a 9-5 routine is acceptable.
