By occupation, I am a Public Health Nurse. However, I enjoy working out in the community as a companion providing respite and support to area families. I like to work with the elderly. I have experience in hospice, with various chronic diagnoses, performing direct care, working with dementia. Before becoming a nurse, I was a companion and caregiver, then hospice caregiver and as my workload expanded by word of mouth, I hired a few part-time caregivers and became a small, unskilled business owner. I work well independently but understand what information is important to share with family members and health care providers. I like to focus on safety and comfort. I will work in a long-term commitment or with short-term respite situations. I like to start with an email, progress to a phone conversation, meet in a public setting and then in your home. It's important to me that we trust is built on a mutual basis.
