Hello! I am a Registered nurse with 14 years experience in oncology, hospice, end of life, respite care, alzheimers and dementia care as well as some orthopaedic care. I have had supervisory experience as well as experience with geriatric psychiatric patients. I have noticed that there is a lack of resources for families who may need respite care in their homes. Sometimes these patients need to get out, whether it's just for a ride around town or to a doctor's appointment. It could be just to keep mom or dad company for a while outside the home to give you some much needed down time. I understand....believe me. I have reliable transporation, although it isn't fancy, it gets me from point A to B. I'm engaging and knowledgeable and connect very well to people of all races, colors, lifestyles, socioeconomic backgrounds and religions. My only priority is caring for your loved one and making sure your family has what it needs to function a little bit better that it did earlier that day or yesterday or last week, and to give the primary caregivers time to rest their minds and bodies. I am the mother of a 3 year old and a 1 year old, one of which has special needs and I work full time, but my condensed work schedule allows for a little wiggle room. This opportunity would be on an as needed (or PRN) basis for a couple or few hours here and there. If you are interested, we can discuss times and schedules.
