Elder Care Job in Ottawa, Ontario

We are seeking a professional, empathetic female caregiver to provide care for a 65 year old woman AND two and a half-year old child. Care to be provided in our home near the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Nepean (near Baseline and Greenbank). Female client has Multiple Sclerosis and relies on an electronic wheelchair. She is able to weight bear but must be transferred in and out of her wheelchair using a pivot transfer and a transfer disk so the ideal candidate must be able to perform a physical lift safely (training will be provided). She is kind, friendly and able to direct her own care. Child is client\'s grandson and is polite, funny, eager to learn and play and full of energy. Start date: August/September 2015 Salary: To Be Determined ($18/hour) Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm (approx. 40 hours per week) Requirements: -good command of the English language -physically able to perform a pivot transfer of client in and out of her wheelchair as needed (2 - 6 times per day) -organized, reliable, freindly and must have the energy required to stimulate the development of a busy toddler. -a vehicle and/or driver\'s licence is an asset as well as any medical or childcare training/certificates Light housekeeping expectations: -1-2 loads of laundry per week -vacuum main floor 1-2 times per week -load/unload dishwasher daily and tidy kitchen -there may be the odd errand to run (take toddler with you) Further details can be provided for interested candidates. 65 year old woman with Multiple Sclerosis.
