Nothing has ever intrigued me more than having the chance to help others to the best of my ability and work towards my career in the medical field. Especially when working with so many different people from all these different cultures and beliefs and all the amazing stories that can be shared, you never stop learning! I very much enjoyed my time at Chateau Park where I completed my clinical hours for school. Many of the ladies and gentleman that I cared for were war veterans and had lived through some shocking experiences. Most of them were kind and light-hearted, and gave me a sense of fulfillment at the end of the day. It made me feel great that I contributed to making someone's day better, and were caring for their well-being. Also, the appreciation that you get from the families for being there for their loved ones is amazing! I can't even begin to explain that feeling. I hope that I get to experience more of this as I travel through my career path. I'm not shy, enjoy meeting new people, and believe in holistic care to the fullest. Never be quick to judge or assume, because you never know what the other person has gone through! I look forward to meeting lots of new families, and hope this gives you a little bit of insight about me! Cheers! While I was completeing my clinical hours, I got to work with a number of seniors in the home. There were all kinds of different disabilities and limitations that we needed to be aware of. I had to be aware of how to use ceiling lifts, maxi and sera lifts. As well, we needed to be familiar with the care plans and diets, along with tending to their ADLs with care.
