Elder Care in Oakland, California

I am a part-time student nurse still working on my Bacchelor degree in Nursing (BSN) online, have completed my ADN last year, and now work in private elder care settings until I pass my RN license exam. I have had a previous CNA license but have let it lapse. I can assist elders with any needs including ambulation, ADLs (activities of daily living) including bathing, bathroom assistance, food preparation and feeding, monitor vital signs, basic household cleaning, assist client to pay bills, connect client to available services and referrals. I can even do handyman work around the house too. I have experience with ALZ and dementia/ delirium as well. I also have more than 700 hospital student RN nurse clinical care hours for everything from lung transplant patients to post-fall hip replacement patients in addition to one semester of nursing home clinical care. For the bedridden, I can reposition the patient on a schedule, and monitor for pressure ulcers. I can also facilitate active or passive range of motion exercises. I cannot administer medications, but I can follow, remind, and record when and what medications were taken; and report to family or nurse. I can also simply be a valued eldercare sitter when the primary caring family simply needs a break -- I know how it goes. Let me know how I might be of assistance. George
