Live-Out Long-Term Nanny/Caregiver Hello we currently interviewing for an immediate opening for a compassionate & experienced elderly caregiver.. We are looking to hire someone preferably with nursing experience who has worked with elderly patients. The qualified candidate will care for a 71 year old woman who currently uses a wheelchair needs assistance to use bathroom, bathing, and meal preparation. She requires simple daily exercises for strengthening mostly upper body. She experiences from time to time panic issues. The perfect candidate would be someone who is compassionate, caring, patient, friendly, and who will encourage her day to day to keep her motivated. Must be able to communicate the status of the patient, including any changes periodically, to a supervisor, family members, nurse, or doctor. Eligible to legally work in Canada. This post is for a Live-out position with weekly or bi weekly pay, start immediately. Hours daily 7 days a week 10am - 6pm with a 3 hour break between 2 - 5. Applicant requirements English and/or French speaking Have a minimum of 1 year experience either as a nurse, home support worker, or care provider preferably with the elderly and have verifiable references. A police background check also necessary. Be able to transfer from wheelchair safely to commode or bathroom. *Provide proper dosage of Medication at specific times of the day *Toilet Assistance and Incontinence *Heavy Patient Lifting (she weighs 120 lbs but cannot stand on her own) *Patient Positioning *Diaper Changing minimum twice daily or three times with proper cleaning to prevent infection *Personal Hygiene (Bathing, hair care, maintain proper skin care, application of lotion, oral hygiene) *Dressing/Grooming (dressing, assistance with personal grooming) *Companionship *Patience and Understanding (the patient requires someone who repeats kindly instructions) *Assistance with Mobility, light exercise to retain strength *Transferring and Position *Meal Preparation/Cooking (breakfast/lunch/dinner) *Must be able to cook meals using stove, microwave, conventional oven, Forman grill *Keeping her mentally active engaged in activities involving cooking/meal preparation, crosswords *General Housekeeping duties and Household tasks
