Elder Care in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina

Hello. My name is Judy. I have both my bachelor and master degrees in Social Work. I have worked in various areas of Social Work. I worked for five years as a Hospice Social Worker before moving from Florida to North Carolina in 2006. When I moved, I volunteered for four years at WakeMed Fuquay Varina Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility as an assistant in the recreation department. I facilitated group activities including exercise, reading, bingo, craft projects, cognitive functioning activities, board games/cards, and holiday parties with the residents. I also helped feed residents in the dining room area. I also worked for eight months in 2014 as an Activity Director Assistant at a facility in Fuquay Varina that consists of assisted living, skilled long term, and rehabilitation residents. I would also participate with "one on one" activities with residents in their rooms. I have always enjoyed working with the geriatric population and have a strong knowledge and comfort level of individuals who suffer with dementia. I am a very caring, dependable, patient person who has always been told I have a gift of making others feel very calm and comfortable. I feel I am a wonderful listener and very attentive to individuals needs. I would treat your loved one as if he or she was my own family.
