Elder Care in Van Nuys, California

Hello, My name is Monica, and I am looking for an elder care/companion position in a loving home. I am IHSS certified (with certificate), CPR trained (with certificate). I have taken care of 3 people in my life, excluding my children. The first was my grandmother who was put in a retirement home and I came to see her often. As time went on, she became more depressed there, so I decided I needed to step in and care for her, which I did for 2 years before her passing. The other 2 people I have taken care of was a woman who had pancreatic cancer and needed someone by her side to help with making sure everything she needed was clean and by her side. I sat with her almost every day for 6 months, helping with anything she needed, even if it was just to hold her hand, until she passed in 2009. The third person I cared for was my husband who I lost to diabetes last year. Prior to his passing, I helped him with showering, cleaning, making him food, medication management, but most of all companionship as that is what eased his discomfort the most.
