Do you need help taking care of mom or dad who has Dementia or Alzheimer's? Do you want them to stay at home or continue to live with you for a many years to come? Do you need a break from 24-hour care? That's where I come into play. I am a certified and trained recreation therapist who has expertise in taking care of older adults with Dementia and Alzheimer's. By keeping a person with any form of dementia (vascular, Lewy body, or Frontotemporal dementia) engaged and stimulated physically, cognitively and socially, it is possible to slow down the effects of the dementia and to manage difficult behaviors. This is why my care program is so helpful. I am a qualified and professional recreation therapist who will visit in your home to provide 1:1 activity programs that help manage the disease and protect the person's physical, cognitive and social abilities. I offer the best combination of skills and experience to make a meaningful difference in quality of living for both the person with dementia and their caregiver. As a therapist, I am college and university educated and have over 5 years of working experience with Alzheimer's and dementia patients I will assess what kinds of cognitive, physical and social stimulation is appropriate and set specific goals with you and your caregiver I will design a custom program of meaningful and therapeutic activities that will speak directly to the individual's unique strengths, abilities and needs These programs can implement Montessori techniques and other proven methods to maximize therapeutic benefits to the person with dementia The caregiver is able to leave the house during the time that I am there You can set a regular schedule of visits, and I will come every time as needed I can provide service in multiple languages; Hindi, Punjabi, and English I have my CPR level 3, food safe, First Aid, Osteofit (exercise) training, Java music club training, and Dementia training. If you need respite care that goes beyond bathing and feeding, helps you mange the challenges of caring for a person with Alzheimer's or another dementia, and provides active therapy that improves quality of living please me today.
