I would like to mention that I took care of mom for 2 years. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2011 and is now in a care home. Because of a previous injury, I had to help her dress in the morning and get undressed in the evening. She required Depends* at this point because sometimes she was unable to get to the washroom in time. I had a nurse come and give her a shower and do her hair. Meanwhile, I took care of the household, meal preparation and took her to appointments. I had some experience with personal care while working in Tsawwassen. I looked after Pearl (93) from Dec. 2013 to the end of Aug. 2015. My duties included dispensing medication, taking BP, grooming, bathing, laundry, housekeeping, shopping, planning and preparing nutritious meals and taking her to appointments. From April 1 to Dec. 31, 2016, I took care of Hendrik (91). My duties included taking BP, dispensing medication, laundry, housekeeping, preparing meals and shopping. More recently, I worked in a hotel as a housekeeper. Over the last 14 years, I have cared for clients who are elderly or have been hurt in a motor vehicle accident or injured at work.
