Elder Care in Kamloops, British Columbia

I have personal understanding of needing assistance with caring for a family member and providing care for the family members of others. While the one being cared for is the key recipient of care, there is also a great need for involvement and some input by other family members. I initially returned to Kamloops to provide full-time, live-in care-giving for my Mother. Since her passing, I have provided in-home care-giving assistance in a variety of settings in Kamloops.  2 years caring for my mother who had advanced Alzheimer’s and a very severe case of Schatzky’s Ring, stopping her from swallowing. Myself and other family members did full end of life care, at home, under Doctor’s supervision  2 years caring for an elderly couple. The wife had long term Parkinson’s, eventually developing Parkinson’s dementia. After her passing I continued to care for the husband during his decline into Alzheimer’s, until he moved into a care facility.  I have assisted an active middle aged man with Parkinson’s, in his own home  I have assisted an active middle aged woman in her own home. She requires the use of a ceiling lift for all of her transfers  I have been the primary caregiver during end of life care at home, for 3 people  I have worked part time, in a private care home with 3 clients  For an insulin dependent family member I have done full Diabetes care over a 2 year period  In home Caregiver for active middle age woman, with complex disabilities. One of a staff of 4.
