Elder Care in Ottawa, Ontario

I am a 56 year old woman who has recently retired after being in the workforce for 40 years, most recently the Federal Government for the last 27 years and for the last 10 years as a personal executive assistant. Prior to that I worked as a secretary at the University of Ottawa for several years and prior to that I was in sales for several years. My responsibilities have always been varied but always reflected a caretaking quality. Also, during the 40 years I took 7 years off to stay home and raise my two children. I am very domestic by nature and have many years of experience cleaning, cooking, nurturing, driving, etc. I wish to continue to work part-time and working as a personal assistant to a senior is something I would enjoy very much. The only experience I have actually working with seniors is caring for elderly aunts, elderly mother-in-law and ailing mother prior to her death. My responsibilities were limited to some personal care, meal preparation, light house cleaning, errands and companionship.
