Elder Care in Ottawa, Ontario

I am a 31 year old female in the Health Sciences field at the University of Ottawa. I have some volunteer experience with the elderly (please refer to the resume attached on my profile), and I have also looked after senior family members such as my grandparents, and most recently, an uncle who is a victim of several strokes and is in a wheelchair. In terms of postnatal women (for which I have my very own personal experiences!), I have helped out other friends before and after their babies were born. I am a quiet but friendly, patient and hardworking person, with a great sense of humour. I hope to find a good fit and part-time hours. Administering medicine, preparing nutritionally appropriate meals, feeding, providing assistance with getting in and out of bed or a wheelchair, pushing a wheelchair, basic toileting assistance and sponge baths, basic wound cleaning for post c-section mothers, helping out with cleaning, doing groceries, helping to look after babies for post-natal mothers, doing laundry, and providing companionship and entertainment. In terms of diabetes care, I have an elderly aunt that I have helped, and I briefly suffered from hypoglycemia so I know how important it is to have regular meals and sugary snacks for urgent situations. I know how to check blood sugar and when to administer insulin.
