Elder Care in Calgary, Alberta

hi there, my name is Shenool Charania and i am interested in being a caregiver. i recieved my LPN in london england in 1974 and worked as a nurse. i have been living in Canada for years now however upon moving to Canada i stopped nursing to raise my children. Now tha tmy children are grown up i assist in caregiving. i currently work with two elderly women - i ensure they have eaten (i cook for them as needed), i help with the laundry, i help them bathe and anything else they might need. i understand that it is difficult to ensure that your parent/grandparent is being properly looked after and that life gets extremely busy that is why i always do everything i can to ensure they are properly looked after and are living in a cleanly environment. i also work with a few women being their translator when they need to go to a doctor�s appointment. Lastly i work when needed with a special needs child - as a parent it can be extremely difficult to constantly by at your childs side and work with them - i do everything i can to help this child grow and relieve any stress i can for the parent i have completed my nursing degree in london, england however upon arriving to Canada i stopped working as a nurse to raise my children. i currently take care of 2 elderly ladies, i help them get out of bed, ensure they eat and take their medicine, help them bathe, clean and provide companionship. I take them to church on a regular basis as well. i also assist two Punjabi ladies when they need to go to the doctor - i act as a translator as their english is not good and i speak punjabi, gujarti, hindi, and english when needed i also assist a young special needs girl - after school i sit with her and play games with her and take care of her
